The Jiamini Day Care Center
The cooperation between the Kenyan organization Jiamini CBO and the German sponsoring association Jiamini e. V. established the Jiamini Day Care Center.
Since 2014, Jiamini has cared for needy children from the Kiandutu slum (Kenya) and ensures their school and vocational training. In addition, the children are provided with healthy nutrition and medical care. Jiamini discusses socially important topics, such as the danger of drug addiction or the implementation of non-violent communication. Sports activities such as football and basketball usually take place in the afternoon. Many children from Kiandutu join this activities.
The team
The Kenyan team accompanies the children every day. Regardless of whether it's for everyday things or very personal concerns. The trained social workers are also available to the legal guardians if they have any questions.

Non-violent communication
It is not uncommon for people to use physical violence in their upbringing in Kenya. We speak out clearly against this and demonstrate non-violent communication and respectful interaction with one another.
Sustainability
We want permanent change. That is why we accompany the children until they have a job and can pay for their own living.
Communication on equal terms
It is important for us to find solutions together. We maintain eye-to-eye contact between Kenya and Germany as well as between the legal guardians and the day care center.
