After the two weeks of vacation in Kenya, school started again in June. This means a lot of work for the Jiamini team on site. School uniforms and backpacks have to be mended, learning materials have to be purchased and personal documents of the children have to be obtained and presented at the schools. These are all prerequisites for school attendance.
The focus is also on preparing the children themselves for the start of school. Their current learning levels, past performance and goals, as well as their behavior at school are discussed with them. The social workers visited the schools and discussions took place with all class teachers.
