In order to ensure a balanced diet for the children at the Jiamini Day Center, the meal program has been changed. So far the children always went to a small “restaurant” in the Kiandutu slum. There the selection is limited to rice and chapati.
In order to provide more variety in their diet, the children receive a meal specially prepared for them during the holiday program and on the weekends. This is geared towards the needs of the children and is cooked by an elderly lady from the Kiandutu slum. The price for the food is more expensive, but in addition to rice and chapati, the menu also includes fresh vegetables, beans and fruits.
